Harold P. Callahan
May 26, 1928 - Nov. 30, 2012
Harold P. Callahan passed away on November 30, 2012. He was born on May 26, 1928, son of Perry W. and Bessie N. Callahan of Sebastopol, California. A graduate of the 1948 class of Corning Union High School, he also spent one year studying at Bethany Bible College. Following his military service in the 70th Field Artillery Regiment of the United States Army during the Korean War, Harold earned a bachelor's degree from California State University at Chico. In 1957 he became a Certified Public Accountant. Later, he successfully opened a private accounting business in San Francisco and served as President for the Society of California Accountants. A longtime resident of San Mateo, he faithfully attended First Presbyterian Church. Friends and clients remember Harold as a kind, honest man. He enjoyed a membership at The Olympic Club and cruising to many countries around the world, including the Antarctica.
Harold met his wife of 52 years, the late Dr. Lois A. Callahan, under a flagpole at Chico State. He is survived by his two daughters, Kristel L. Frank and Dr. Brenda Edwards; sons-in-law, Dr. Lassa Frank and The Reverend Tom Edwards; and his four grandchildren, T.J., Lauren, Toren, and Ashley. His beloved siblings are Paul Callahan, Fern Williams, Ruby Bates, David Callahan, and Wesley Callahan.
