1930 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Janet Fry Graham

Died in hospital in suburban San Diego, CA on April 27, 2014 after a long illness.  She was born in Evanston, IL on August 10, 1930.  Her formative years were spent in Kenilworth, IL.  She attended New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL and graduated from the Madeira School in McLean, VA in 1949.  She subsequently attended Smith College and graduated from Northwestern University in 1952, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority.  For several years in the 1950s she served as a secretary to Sinclair Weeks, the Secretary of Commerce, in Washington, DC.  Following her marriage to Robert Kuney in 1959 she moved to San Francisco, CA.  Following dissolution of that marriage she subsequently married Donald Graham, who predeceased her.  For many years she volunteered as a docent at the De Young Museum in San Francisco.  Upon retirement from a successful career in the home security business, she moved to Escondido, CA, and later to Carlsbad, CA.  She is survived by her son George W. Kuney of Knoxville, TN, her daughter Liza Kuney of Oakland, CA, her grandson Gus Gebhart of Oakland, CA, and her brother Dr. Willard A. Fry of Wilmette, IL.  Services were private.  Memorials can be made to the De Young Museum, 50 Nagiwara Tea Garden Drive, San Francisco, CA 94118.
