Jennifer Ami Daru, M.D.

Passed away on March 23, 2014 in Kentfield, CA after a two year battle against cancer. Born in Massachusetts on September 18, 1971, Jenn grew up in Tiburon. She graduated from Redwood High School and received her B.A. from Carleton College. She earned her M.D. from Dartmouth-Brown Medical School and completed her residency         at Northwestern University's Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She loved her work as a leader in the field of pediatric hospitalist medicine.  She served as the Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine for California Pacific Medical Center, after roles at Advocate Illinois Masonic and Children's Memorial in Chicago.  She was elected to serve as the Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Hospital Medicine, setting standards of care for hospitalized children across the country.

In addition to her many professional accomplishments, Jenn was kind and generous and devoted to her family and many friends. She loved to bring people together and was always up for new adventures. She was an avid athlete who enjoyed working out, playing tennis and spending time outdoors, especially hiking on Mt. Tam. She will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and colleagues.

Jenn is survived by her loving husband, Jon Laudenbach, her son Carson, her parents Sid and Janet Daru, her brother and sister in-law Aaron and Kirsten Daru, mother-in-law Jean Williams, brother- and sister in-law Charles and Sarah Laudenbach, and niece and nephews Geri, Kevin, Chase and Wyatt.

She is also survived by her loving extended family and a host of long-time friends.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the National Brain Tumor Society.  Services are forthcoming.
