John Stroud Obituary
John J. (Jack) Stroud

John J. (Jack) Stroud, age 86, passed away on Sunday December 8th, 2013 at the Forum in Cupertino California.  Jack fought a valiant battle against cancer for the past 6 months.

Jack was born on March 15, 1927 in Highland Park, Ill to Fred J. Stroud and Helen Graham Stroud.

Jack graduated from Highland Park High School. Following high school, Jack joined the Navy and later served in the reserves. Following the war he returned home, attending and graduating from the University of Illinois, while serving as President of his fraternity.

Jack played and followed basketball, baseball and football enthusiastically, with golf being his love and avocation.

Throughout his life's journey Jack's wonderful wife of 63 years, Nancy, was always at his side. They began in Winnetka, Ill., then Pittsford, N.Y., then Los Altos, CA.

Jack became a leader in the packaging industry - the last 30 years with The White Cap Co. of Continental Can Co.

His loves were golf and family. And he was loved by many. His leadership, humor and love of people left memories from virtually all that met him. He will be missed greatly.

He is survived by his wonderful wife Nancy of 63 years, daughter Susan, sons Tom and fiancée Lori, son Steve and wife, Cathy, and Grandchildren Allison, Jennifer, Jacklyn and Daniel.
