Terri Kellman Skov
A beautiful and loving woman whose devotion to family transcended everything she did, Terri died November 26 at home in Oakland, California, with her children and mother at her side, after a long and valiant battle against multiple sclerosis. She was 50 years old.
Born in New York City, in 1963 to Victoria and Victor (deceased) Kellman, Terri moved to San Francisco in 1977, graduated from Lowell High School in 1980 and later attended UCLA.
She married her high school sweetheart, Peter Skov, in 1990, and together they raised four wonderful and loving children: Shayne and Patrick who are student-athletes at Stanford University, and Olivia and Annika, who are 8th and 5th graders in Oakland.
Terri served proudly for nine years with the San Francisco Fire Department and was chosen as valedictorian in her class at the fire college. She was a part of one of the early classes to admit women fire fighters.
The family's initial homes were in San Francisco, and they moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, in 2000 so they could better deal with Terri's health. While her physical condition worsened, Terri constantly derived great satisfaction and took enormous pride in the successes of her children.
A family celebration of Terri's life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
