HEYTENS, Raymond Eugene
Raymond Eugene Heytens, born July 15, 1929 in Los Angeles to Belgian immigrants, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2013 in West Covina. Raymond graduated from Beaumont High School and received his B.A. in economics from University of Redlands. He served as auditor in the Air Force during the Korean War. He returned to marry the love of his life Justine "Robin" Van Brocklin on October 11, 1958, proudly raising three children. Ray worked as a financial examiner for the California Public Utilities Commission then served as Vice President of Finance for San Gabriel Valley Water Company. During retirement, Ray and Robin enjoyed taking cruises all over the world. He loved stamp collecting, reading his daily newspapers and spending time with his six grandchildren.
Raymond is preceded in death by his wife Robin Heytens, son Allen Heytens, parents Paul and Yvonne Heytens and brother Norman Heytens. He is survived by his daughters Susan Gross, Karen Schillinger; sons-in-laws David Schillinger, Tyrus Gross; grandchildren Nicholas Heytens, Bradley Heytens, Bethany Heytens, Van Schillinger, Bryan Gross, Adam Gross. Visitation on Monday, September 23 from 5-8 pm at Custer Christiansen Mortuary, 124 S. Citrus Ave., Covina. Funeral on Tuesday, September 24 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 344 W. Workman St., West Covina, followed by burial at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations to Citrus Valley Hospice, 820 N. Phillips Ave, West Covina, CA 91791.
