Don Refine

BRADENTON, FL - Don Refine, 76, formerly of Springfield, Ill., passed away April 18, 2014.

Born Nov. 30, 1937, to Daniel and Rose (Sullivan) Refine, he graduated from Feitshans High School in 1956. He married Wilma Withem on April 8, 1960.

He worked as a printer from '59–'73. He then operated his own business, Refine Carpet and Furniture Cleaning, from '73-'95. He retired as head custodian at Ridgely School in 1997.

He was a member of the Road Runners Hot Rod Club, Elk's Lodge 158, and was a life member of Eagles Aerie 437. He enjoyed bowling for many years including state and national tournaments. He also enjoyed golfing.

Don and Wilma enjoyed traveling, especially after retiring. They snowbirded from '98-'13, living at Eagle Village in Bradenton since 2005.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorthea (David) High of Mt. Iron, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; daughter, Debbie (Ron) Price of Sherman; son, Bud (Dominique) of Snellville, Ga.; and four grandchildren: Erin, Eric and Kyle Price, and Nicholas Refine.

Memorial service will be held at the Eagles Club, 2700 E. Ash, Springfield, on June 14 from 2-4 p.m.
