Don R. Bickline

HIGHLAND, IL - Don R. Bickline, 83, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at his residence in Highland.

He was born Thursday, May 22, 1930, in Highland, Ill., the son of the late George and Mildred "Mil" (nee Lampe) Bickline.

On Saturday, Sept. 22, 1956, he married Ruth E. Espenschied who survives.

He was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, VFW Post 5694-Highland and the Postal Carriers Union 155. He was a former member of the Labors Local 687 of Marine and the Highland-Pierron Fire Dept. for 26 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth E. Bickline (nee Espenschied) of Highland; two sons, Michael R. (Kim) Bickline and Brian L. (Susan) Bickline, both of Highland; a daughter, Barbara A. (Jeff) Kimberlin of Rochester, Ill.; sister, Beverly M. (Clifford) Homeier of Livingston, Ill.; and six grandchildren, including Troy C. Kimberlin of Honolulu, Hawaii and Victor R. Kimberlin of Ottawa, Ill.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, and again from 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, also at the church, the Rev. Christopher W. Hill, Senior Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland.

Memorials may be made to the Evangelical United Church of Christ or the Highland-Pierron Fire Department.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland.
