HARRISON, AR - Donald N. Eastep, Sr, 73, of Harrison, AR, died on Saturday, October 27, 2012 in Mayes County, OK, the result of a car accident. He was born December 19, 1938 in Springfield, IL to Paul Eber Eastep and Frances Cathern Gardiner Eastep.
His parents and one sister, Rosalie Mae Eastep preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Gwendolyn) Eastep, Jr., of Virden, IL and Derek (Jennifer) Eastep of Columbia, IL; two brothers, Les Eastep of Rochester, IL and Larry (Karen) Eastep of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren, Janice (Daniel) Kast of Milwaukee, WI, Brandi Eastep of Virden, IL, Kaleigh Eastep of Virden, IL and Delaney Eastep of Columbia, IL,; one great grandson, George Nathaniel Kast of Milwaukee, WI, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a resident of Springfield most of his life and moved to Harrison, AR in 2010. He was an avid competition chilli cook and belonged to the International Chilli Society. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #4 AF&AM, and served as a Past Master. He was also a member of the ANSAR-Shrine. Don was a member of Eagles Aerie #158 and was a City Town Official in Harrison, AR.
Mr. Eastep formerly worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation; he was Co-owner of 7th Street Pawn; was a Customer Engineer for IBM and worked for Tyson Foods as a quality Assurance Inspector.
Visitation: 2-5 pm Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 2 p.m.
Funeral Services: 5 pm, Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Rabbi Michael S. Datz officiating.
Graveside Service: 11 am Monday, November 5, 2012 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with military honors.
