Earl Darwin "Dar" Bouchez
HAVANA, IL - Earl Darwin "Dar" Bouchez, 82, of Havana, passed away in Bartonville at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
He was born Jan. 2, 1932, in Bartonville, to Jule and Vivian Irene (Bradley) Bouchez. He married Joyce Leitner in 1954. He later married Barbara Bakies on Nov. 19, 1988. She preceded him in death in 2009.
Dar is survived by five children: Jack (Melinda) Bouchez of Titusville, Fla., Jean Bouchez and Julia Bouchez of Bartonville, Joseph (Cindy) Bouchez of Dawsonville, Ga., and Jeffrey Bouchez of Bartonville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Sarah (Lacey) Taylor, Pete Bouchez, Joseph (Melissa) Bouchez and Jason Bouchez, as well as seven great-grandchildren: Brianna, Emily, Sandra, Abigale, Zachary, Katie and Brandon.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jule, his parents and wife.
Dar was a member of the VFW Post and American Legion Post in Bartonville. He had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 39 years, from 1953 until his retirement in 1992.
Visitation will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Friday, April 18, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Manito. Warren Hughes will officiate.
