ROCHESTER- Everett J. Goddard, 84, of Williston, FL, formerly of Rochester, IL and Naples, FL passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. Everett was born on May 23, 1928, in Decatur, IL to Eddie and Myrtle (Bounds) Goddard. He was preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Myrtle Goddard and daughter, Barbara Goddard.
Everett is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alma Goddard; sons; Ralph Goddard of Naples, FL, Jay (wife, Brenda) Goddard of Benton, IL, Kevin (wife, Michelle) Goddard of Naples, FL, Aaron (wife, Wendy) Goddard of Waverly, WV, stepson Thomas Peterson (wife, Suzy) of Naples, FL, daughters; Conni (husband, Wayne) Hutchinson of Springfield, IL, Teresa (husband, Curt) Mavis of Rochester, IL, Cynthia Goddard of Springfield, IL, Beth (husband, Joseph) Sansone of Niceville, FL; step-daughter, Janis Peterson of Williston, FL; 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
Everett spent most of his life as a building contractor in Illinois and Florida and was described as a workaholic. He was a member of Golden Gate Presbyterian Church in Naples, FL. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 1782 with a Pilgrim Degree, Fraternal Order of Eagles 4028, V.F.W. Post 7721 in Naples, FL. Everett was Shriners and a Mason in Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, boating, NASCAR, and loved feeding squirrels and spending time with family, friends and his dog Chloe.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:00am in Green Cove Springs, FL.
