Jack L. Lisenbee
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Jack L. Lisenbee, 82, died at 8:05 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at St. John's Hospice.
Jack was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Macomb, Ill., the son of Lloyd and Marie Greeley Lisenbee. He married Ann Keithley on April 12, 1952, in Macomb.
Jack was a graduate of Macomb High School in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1955. He earned his MBA from the University of Illinois in Champaign in 1977. He retired in 1993 as Vice President of Corporate Services after 43 years of service with Central Illinois Public Service Company.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield where he served as a Stephen Minister, Communion Assistant and participated in the Men's Bible Study.
While living in Mattoon, he was President of the Sarah Bush Hospital Board, Co-chairman of the YMCA Fund Drive, and a member of the Rotary Club. He also served on several committees in the communities in which he lived. Jack was an avid U of I basketball fan and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Lisenbee of Springfield; two daughters, Amy (husband, Jeff) Dodd of Acworth, Ga., and Jennifer (husband, Kelly) Freeman of Springfield; five grandchildren: Ryan Rigg, Zachary Rigg, Sean Freeman and Mollie Freeman, all of Springfield, and Tyler Rigg of San Antonio, Texas; one great-grandchild, Brayden Rigg of Springfield; one sister, Audrey (husband, James) Sheahan of Tolono, Ill.; four nieces, six nephews and several cousins.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a good friend.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2477 W. Washington, Springfield with Rev. Greg Busboom officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
