James R. Bosie
SPRINGFIELD, IL - James R. Bosie, 67, died at 7:56 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Mason District Hospital, Havana, Ill. He was born July 30, 1946, the son of William Donald and Margaret "Peggy" Maxine Monroe Bosie-Smith. He married Rebecca Bosie and they later divorced.
Survivors include his companion, Laura Grant of Springfield; daughter, Jessi Rae Bosie of Springfield; son, Jason Ray (companion, Heather Caruso) Bosie of Springfield; stepchildren, Robert, Taylor and Devon McDaniel; three sisters, Linda Spangler, JoAnne (companion, Jerry Hurley) Wendling, both of Springfield, and Kathy (Greg) Boston of Williamsville; two brothers, Steve (Louann) Bosie of Sherman and Danny (Sheryl) Bosie of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Douglas Smith; one brother, William Bosie, Jr.; and one sister, Mary Ellen Davis.
James was a Member of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam, the DAV and the VFW 10302. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, however, his greatest love was spending time at his cabin on the river fishing, and being on the water. He was a coal miner and had worked at Peabody Coal Mine in Pawnee.
Celebration of Life: Family will be host a Celebration of Life from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the DAV, 25 Club Area, Springfield, IL 62713.
