Marjorie Ellen Priestley Duggan
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Marjorie Ellen Priestley Duggan, formerly of Buffalo, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014, at the age of 88.
She was born July 28, 1925, in Greenfield, Tenn., and grew up in Vicksburg, Miss., and later resided in Buffalo for over 50 years after marrying. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother who was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Duggan, and son, Leo Thomas.
She was a teacher in the area for many years for Tri-City in Buffalo, Williamsville and Springfield schools. She taught French, library science and computer during her teaching career. Mrs. Duggan graduated from Pepperdine University in California prior to beginning her first teaching job in Buffalo. While raising four boys and working, she earned her Master of Science Degree from the University of Illinois in library science.
She is survived by three sons, James Francis (wife, Joanne) of Red Bank, N.J., and their two children, Sean and Heather, Kelly Richard of Houston, Texas, and Timothy Erin of Springfield; daughter-in-law (Leo's widow), Paula of Champaign, and her three children, Brian, Laura and Thomas (wife, Gillian); and one sister, Sue (husband, Jess) Moore of Dubach, La.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:30–11:15 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014, at St. James Catholic Church, 112 N. 6th St., Riverton.
Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014, at St. James Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. David Lantz celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
