Mark Alan Estock
AUBURN, IL - Mark A. Estock, 57, formerly of Danville, Ill., died June 12, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family.
Mark was born June 28, 1955, in Danville to Harold and Phyllis (Carder) Estock. He was a graduate of Oakwood High School (Class of '73), earned his undergraduate degree from SIU in 1977 and a Master's Degree from EIU in the early 1980's.
Mark was a police officer in the Gibson City, Paxton and Danville areas. He then worked in law enforcement in the Champaign County and Springfield areas until he retired in 2010.
He was a family-centered man with a good sense of humor. Mark was a Mason for 34 years and became an Ansar Shriner when he moved to Springfield. He was a member of AUMC in Auburn. Additionally, Mark - a.k.a. Scooter - was a member of the Springfield, Ill., Chapter of the Roughnecks Motorcycle Club.
Mark married Kathleen Hargan on Aug. 12, 1977; she survives. Also surviving are four children: Hallie (Dan) Bilbrey, Abbey Estock, Joe Estock and Samuel Estock; his sister: Cheryl (Rex) Richards; and three nephews: Ryan Brady, Jeremy Brady and Eric Richards. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams, Danville, IL 61832 with Pastors Brian Caughlan and Ron Rasmus officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. by Furtherlight Lodge 1130; it is open to the public. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
