Nancy Brosius Weisiger Haaker
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Nancy Brosius Weisiger Haaker, 94, died Friday, April 5, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born April 1, 1920, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of James and Jeanette Brosius.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Weisiger of Falmouth, Mass.; son, George Weisiger of Danville, Ill.; granddaughter, Jeanette Weisiger Routson of Ypsilanti, Mich.; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by stepson, David Haaker, and stepdaughter, Linda Haaker Cisco of Springfield.
She was graduated from the University of Illinois Graduate School of Library Science and was a teacher and librarian in the city schools for 23 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and lived the last two-and-a-half years of her life at the Illinois Presbyterian Home in Springfield.
A memorial service will be held at the Illinois Presbyterian Home, 2005 W. Lawrence, Springfield, at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support the Brown Bag Concert Series at First Presbyterian Church or to the Illinois Presbyterian Home.
