Pearl Annette Strode
SPRINGFIELD - Pearl Annette Strode, 83, died at 2:02 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center.
Pearl was born on March 27, 1931, in Manhattan, N.Y., the daughter of Giuseppi Argentino and Margaret Iola Webb Youvino. She married Richard Strode on April 2, 1993, in Teaneck, N.J.
Pearl attended school to be a chemical engineer at New York University. She was employed with Poly Chem in Spring Valley, N.Y., as a comptroller, and then in the sales department until her retirement in 2009. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Pearl was a concert pianist, spoke two languages, and was an equestrian. She enjoyed cross-stitch and bred and exhibited Afghan show hounds.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Rose Rodriguez and Pauline Walker.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Strode, of Springfield; her children, Claire Moran of Englewood, N.J., Pearl Antoinette Street of Summit, N.J., Frank Hudson (wife, Katie O'Conner) West of Bomoseen, Vt., and George Romaine (wife, Raquel) West III; step-daughter, Julie Ann (husband, Brett) Bottemuller; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cremation was accorded by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
