JACKSONVILLE, IL - Philip McQuillan, 62, died March 25, 2014, at Whibdey General Hospital in Coupeville, Wash. He was born March 10, 1952, in Elgin, the son of John and Marcy Haeger McQuillan. He married Alice St. John on Feb. 17, 1972, and later divorced.
Also surviving is one daughter, Emily (husband, Dustin Johnson) McQuillan of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Matthew McQuillan of Springfield and Luke (fiancé, John Spurgeon) McQuillan of Chicago; his fiancé, Faye Mini-Reyman; and two brothers, John (wife, Malou) McQuillan III of Springfield and David (wife, Linda) McQuillan of White Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was the Salutatorian of the North Greene High School, class of 1970, and graduated from the University of Illinois Law School in 1978. He was the state's attorney in Clinton County for four years, he worked as an assistant attorney general from 1988-2011, and currently worked as an attorney for the Illinois Department of Transportation. He enjoyed classic cars and trucks, and working on home repairs. Most of all, he loved his children and spending time with family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial to follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Jacksonville. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
