Robert R. "Bob" Fulk
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Robert R. "Bob" Fulk, 69, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center.
Bob was born Oct. 1, 1944, in Decatur, IL, the son of Roy and Georgia (Whitney) Fulk. He married Linda Doane on Aug. 31, 1968, at First United Methodist Church in Mounds, IL.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army First Signal Brigade, 21st Signal Group during the Vietnam War.
He and Linda are long-time members of the Springfield First United Methodist Church and the Berean Sunday School Class. Bob was a generous man to all, a loving husband and father, and a doting grandfather.
Bob retired from LRS as Senior Vice President of International Marketing, which enabled him to travel extensively throughout the world. He received the ICP Million Dollar Sales Award several years in a row, and also was a professional member and served as President of the local chapter of Association for Systems Management.
He enjoyed golf, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, followed the Indy 500, and coached tee ball when his children were young. Bob was a weekly volunteer at Kumler Neighborhood Ministries.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; children: Shirley Webb and Rebecca Fulk of Springfield and Todd Fulk of Rockford; granddaughter, Amber Nicole Webb, and great-grandson, Aiden Matthew Webb of Springfield; granddaughter, Crystal (Dave) Creswell; grandson, Nick (Kim) Webb; great-grandchildren: Jonathon Webb, Tyler Webb, Andrew Simmer, Courtney Webb, Samuel Webb, and Joshua Webb; sister, Karen Bridges (companion, Welcome Bettis) of Girard and brothers, John (Barb) of Peachland, NC and Richard (Needra) of Helotes, TX; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 2941 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, IL 62711. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Bob Swickard and Dr. Roger Ross on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow services at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where military honors will be performed by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the Department of the Army.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Springfield, IL or to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
