Ross David Feldkirchner Obituary

Ross David

CHICAGO - Ross David Feldkirchner, 48, died suddenly on May 3, 2013, of a massive heart attack at the Carlton, Chicago, where he was in rehab following major orthopedic surgery, the result of advanced diabetes.

Ross was born April 4, 1965, at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital, Chicago, to Harlan L. and Mary Ann Burdick Feldkirchner.

He attended Pekin and Peoria grade schools, Richwoods High School and graduated from Elk Grove High School, Elk Grove Village, IL. Following that he attended Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and University of Illinois, Chicago. While a Peoria resident, he attended Grace Presbyterian Church.

His last employment was with Banker's Life, Chicago, after which an injury led to the diagnosis of advanced diabetes. He then was in a nursing home for three years, but had been living independently in Chicago for two years prior to recent major surgery.

While he thoroughly enjoyed the offerings of Pekin and Peoria during his youth, he loved Chicago as an adult.

Ross had been reading and researching all of his life, with some of his interests and participation being in historical reenactments, science, science fiction, current events and art ranging from designs in leather, metal and fabric to other mediums. Ever a student of the computer for personal interests, recreation and computer capability, he was motivated by his computer while in the nursing home and recently in rehab.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Larson of Springfield; brothers, Drew (Jennifer) and Reid; along with his much-loved niece, Meadow, and dear cat companion, Smokey.

Ross was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Feldkirchner, and grandparents, Florence and Alvin Eichelberger.

Cremation was accorded at Lakeview Funeral Home, 1458 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60657.

Burial will be at a later date. Please visit the Lakeview Funeral Home website to offer your condolences.
