PAWNEE, IL - Sue Elayne Thomas, 68, passed away at 5:14 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center following a three year battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Denver, Colo., the daughter of Alan and Helen Woods.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Beverly Woolfolk, Ailene Cliburn and Colleen Buss; and one brother, Graham "Bud" Woods.
Sue graduated from Waverly High School. After graduation she worked for Illinois National Insurance Company, Franklin Life, Roosevelt National and United Trust.
She married Kent Thomas on Oct. 18, 1963, at the Waverly Christian Church.
Sue loved traveling, spending the winter at Llano Grande RV and Golf Resort near Mercedes, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley and being "Nana" with the grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Kent; two children, Andrea Womack and Jeff Thomas (fiancée, Gabbrielle Ippoliti); granddaughters: Ashleigh (Josh) Walters, Allison Womack, Schyler Thomas and Carson Thomas; one great-granddaughter, Hadley Walters; one brother, Ladd Woods; sister-in-law, Rita Woods; brothers-in-law, John Buss and Joe Cliburn; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
