SPRINGFIELD – Thomas E. Daughton, 71, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at St. John's Hospital.
He was born Sept. 26, 1942, to John and Teresa (Henneberry) Daughton, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Joyce A. Wagner on Oct. 8, 1966.
Tom was a 1964 Notre Dame graduate and a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed by Allis Chalmers/Fiat Allis for 19 years and later Mellote-Morse-Leonatti & Parker Architects for 19 years. He enjoyed golfing and was a loyal Cubs fan. He was a member of Christ the King Church, Knights of Columbus and Eagles Club Aerie 437.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Dianna (Brian) Hanneman of Plainfield, Tammy Linne Daughton of Springfield, Theresa Daughton of Lutz, Fla., and Patrick (Kimberly) Daughton of Springfield; seven grandchildren; brother, Jack Daughton of Bluffton, S.C.; sister, Mary (Steve) Taylor of Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Gathering: 10 a.m.-noon, Friday, May 9, 2014, at Christ the King Church.
Memorial Mass: Noon Friday, May 9, 2014, at Christ the King Church, Rev. Joseph Ring, celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Church.
