BARTZ, Albert George 90, of Odessa, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at Guflside Regional Hospice of Hudson. Albert leaves his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Bartz (Pohl); his son, David; daughter-in-law, Claire; grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Bartz. He is also survived by his sister, Eleanor Muck of Lockport, NY. Born and raised in East Amherst, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, on July 11, 1922, the son of the late George and Elizabeth Bartz, he and his wife moved to Florida in 1980 to be with their son. Albert was an active member of Clarence United Methodist Church in Clarence, NY and later Hudson United Methodist Church in Hudson, where he served as maintenance custodian and long time usher. Albert will be remembered for his smile, quick whit and friendly handshake. Albert served in the U.S. Army in WWII in the Centeral European Tour. He requested no service be held and will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
