POSEY, Alfred L. Sr. was born June 24, 1922 in Alexandria, VA. He passed away on Sept. 21, 2012. He retired as U.S. Treasury Special Agent, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. In the European Theater of WWII, he served in the U.S. Army Ordinance in England. In France, Belgium and Germany, he served with CO. H-423rd Infantry Regiment of the 106th Infantry Division. Al was predeceased by his parents, Harry L. and Clotilde B. Posey; his wife, Cecilia Trigo Posey; and his brother, Col. Edward H. Posey, U.S. Air Force Retired. He studied at the University of Alabama and the Sorbonne (Paris) and graduated from the University of Florida. He was elected to the University of Florida Hall of Fame, Florida Blue Key and the honorary political science fraternity Pi Sigma Alpha. Al is survived by his sisters, Marguerite Pearson and Rose Marie (Col. James) McIntyre. He is also survived by his daughter, Julia P. Jacobs (Andrew); his sons, Alfred L. Posey Jr. (Lois) and Andrew J. Posey (Camille); his grandchildren, Nathan Posey (Kathy), Amy Posey, Captain David Jacobs U.S. Army, and Richard Jacobs; and great-grandson, Maximus Posey. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 pm Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at the Gonzalez Funeral Home.
