GORDON, Specialist Brittany Bria 24 years, of St. Petersburg, was killed in Kandahar, Afganistan on Oct. 13, 2012, when enemy forces attacked her unit. Brittany was born Oct. 2, 1988 in St. Petersburg, and graduated at the top of her class from St. Petersburg High School in 2006. She atteneded the University of Florida, and completed her A.A. degree while serving in the United States Army. Brittany was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Herman Thompson and Thomas Gordon Sr. She is survived by her father, Assistant Chief Cedric Gordon and mother, Brenda Gordon; her siblings, Cedric D. Gordon (Cathy), Adrian Kie Sherrod, and Conchetta Diaz; grandmothers, Sarah Brown Thompson and Florence Gordon; aunts, Bernetta Ann Thompson Blossom, Debbie Renee Thompson, Marsha Biutts(Jimmy), Mary Elaine Higdon, & Valarie Gordon, uncle, Thomas Gordon Jr.(Tiffany); great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends. Visitation for Bittany will be Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, from 4-8 pm, with wake services scheduled 6-8 pm at St. Mark M.B. Church. Funeral services Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 11 am at St. Mark M.B.
