HAENIG, Charles H. 83, died Jan. 19, 2014, peacefully with his family by his side in Clearwater. A memorial mass will be held Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at Light of Christ Catholic Church in Clearwater at 10 am. Mr. Haenig was born Oct. 27, 1930, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Charles and Clara Haenig. Chuck graduated from Snowden Township High School, in Library, PA in 1947. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served in the Korean War. Chuck met and wed his beloved wife Catherine "Cookie" Bauer. After a successful career in commercial finance, he retired from Chrysler in 1991. Together they bought a winter home in Clearwater and spent summers at their home in Dormont, PA. Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine and his eldest son, Gregory Haenig (Patricia) of Oakville, CT. He is survived by his brother, Harry Haenig of Bridgeville, PA; son, Charles Haenig (Mary) of Gibsonia, PA; daughter, Marcy Haenig of Palm Harbor, and son Edmund Haenig of West Reading, PA. He was blessed with 10 wonderful grandchildren, Gregory, Stacy, Caitlin, Paige, Madeline, Ashley, Eric, Julian, Emily, and Breanna. He also is survived by his long-time companion, Grace Dotson.
