HUNDLEY, Charles P. 90, of Seminole, passed away Tuesday, Feb 26, 2013, at Bay Pines VA Hospice. Born in Dunnsville, VA, on March 17, 1922, he went to Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA, until he joined the Army Air Corps at the beginning of WWII. He served as a bomber pilot until he was wounded during one of the missions, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart. He and Vinette Wheeler were married on Oct 2, 1944, and were married for 59 years. After he retired from the Air Force in 1970, he and Vinette moved to St. Petersburg. They both entered real estate and worked together at Tourtelot and Sun World. They were long-time members of the St. Pete Yacht Club and the U. S. Power Squadron, of which he was Commander for 2 years. Survivors include daughters, Beverley and husband, Bob Allen & Charlotte and husband, Dean Young; 2 grandsons, Chris Allen and wife, Sally, & Mark Allen and wife, Christa; 2 great-grandsons, Richard Allen and Barrett Allen. "Chuck" lived 42 years on Coquina Key and his last year at Freedom Square. He charmed all he met with his bright blue eyes and sweet ever-present smile. A memorial service be held Sunday, March 3, at 1 pm at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. M L King St. N., St. Pete. (727) 822-2059. A reception will follow at the St. Pete Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the U.S. Power Squadron Scholarship Fund; the Rappahannock Christian Church in Dunnsville, VA; or Suncoast Hospice.
