CRAWFORD, Charles Russell 89, passed away and entered into the presence of the Lord with his wife and family by his side at home in Lutz, on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013. Russ was born in Cameron Mills, NY, Nov. 10, 1923 and was the son of William E. and Isabella Bastian Crawford. He lived his early life in Cameron Mills, was a graduate of Addison High School and attended Alfred University before being drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in the European Theater during World War II. Following his Honorable Discharge he earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Syracuse University. Russ joined IBM in 1950 and advanced through the executive ranks of the corporate treasurer's staff to become Director of Internal Audit-Worldwide. He traveled the world for IBM and retired after 35 years of service. After retirement Russ resided in Bermuda Run, NC and Lutz, where he enjoyed his passion for golf and his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth, of 58 years; sons, Charles Russell Crawford II (Barbara) of Lutz, & David J. Crawford (Dayle) of Lutz; daughters, Carol I. Crawford (Pamela Armstrong) of Lutz, and Mary Ann Crawford (Kate Rutten) of Plymouth, MN; grandchildren, David John and Daniel Louis Crawford; and three nieces and five nephews. Russ was predeceased by his two sisters, Ruth Crawford Frank and Helen Crawford Willis; and his brother, James W. Crawford. The family wishes to thank all for the friendship and love that has been extended to them. A private family service will be held at a later date at which time the family will furnish all flowers.
