CARTER, Clifford "Barney" 82 of Tampa, born in Decatur, IL passed away June 7, 2013. Memorial Services will be in Decatur, IL at a later date. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Beverly; sons, Richard (Tina) and Dave (Lisa) of Decatur, IL; Jim of Peoria, IL; daughter, Sharon Carter of Goshen, NY; grandchildren, Jeremy (Mary), Shannan (Robby), Krista, Phillip, Sarah (Donnie), Jennifer, Craig (Justine); great-grandchildren, Abby, Gabe, Michael, Angela, Matthew, Luke, Parker, Hannah, Brody and Cameron. Barney was born July 11, 1930, graduated from Decatur High, a veteran of the Navy Reserves. He retired as a Captain from the Decatur Fire Department after 32 years of service. He owned CC Fire Equipment for 30 years and CC Disposal for 25 years. Barney was a member of Local 505, the Moose, Elks and VFW. He loved ballroom dancing with the Merry Makers and lessons with Sandy Lambert, Allan and Diana. He enjoyed playing ping-pong and watching the Rays. Barney was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Maggie and Roy, brother Jimmy, Susie and two grandchildren Samuel and Angela. Barney will be remembered for his honesty and directness, as well as the love, support and encouragement he bestowed upon his family, to whom he dedicated his life. Barney was the happiest working and being out at his building. Condolences will be received by Sharon Carter, P0 Box 33, Goshen, NY 10924.
