WASHOM, Donald Charles 88, of Plant City, died on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Sun City Center Hospice House. Born Sept. 19, 1924, in Chitwood, MO, he was the son of the late Haywood Washom and the late Minnie Wilkerson Washom. Don was the husband of the late, Virginia Hetherington Washom. Don was a 22 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as Chief Petty Officer in the SeaBees during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion, the Rod and Gun Club, and loved to play golf. Surviving is son, Darrell Washom; daughter, Deborah Bunker; 4 grandchildren; and by her 3 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 11 am, Tuesday, Feb. 20th, at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
