FRANKLAND, Elizabeth Talley died in her home from a brief illness on March 2, 2013. She was born to Dr. and Mrs. J. Bartow Talley on Aug. 4, 1947, in Richmond, VA, and moved to Temple, TX, shortly thereafter. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In 1969, she moved to Tampa to work with a local sorority at USF and attend graduate school. In 1970, she received her Master of Science in Speech Pathology and was recognized for the highest academic achievement in her graduating class. She worked with children for 10 years for the Hillsborough County School Board as a speech therapist and transferred to the district office, retiring in 1995 after 25 years of service. Elizabeth was a member of The Junior League of Tampa where she served as Placement Chairman, Community Vice President and Provisional Chairman. As a member of Weeders Garden Club, she served as President and Treasurer. She was also a member of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church. Survivors are her husband, Fred Frankland; his daughter & her husband, Nancy & Bob Frierson; her granddaughters, Emma, Elly, Birdie and Lily. Family also includes her sisters, Marsha Talley, Lora Beasley & husband, Ken; brother, Murphy Talley; sister-in-law, Bobbie Talley; nieces & nephew, Lora Watts, Brock Talley, Virginia Talley & Marsha Rape. . A memorial service will be held March 10th, 3 pm at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, with Dr. John T. DeBevoise officiating. Blount & Curry MacDill Aven Chapel in charge of arrangements.
