ADAMS, Evan D. 85, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Dec. 2, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marilyn Adams; his brother, and sister-in-law, Tom and Jean Adams of El Cajon, CA; four children and their spouses; and was best known as "Pop-Pop" to his five grandchildren whom he loved so much. Born in Nanticoke, PA, Evan proudly served in the Navy as a Master of Arms as well as a Medic at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD, and was also awarded the World War II Victory Medal in 1946. He was a lifelong patriot who dearly loved his country. Evan graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Commerce & Engineering. While in college, he played for both the football and lacrosse teams, served as president of the Theta Chi Fraternity and was listed in the Who's Who edition of Students in American Colleges and Universities. He began his profession at Proctor & Gamble and enjoyed a long, successful career as a Human Resources Executive for other major corporations, retiring from Celanese Corporation in 1984. Evan was a Kentucky Colonel and a Master Mason of the Azure Masada Lodge in New Jersey. He served on the Planning and Zoning Board for Treasure Island for many years and was an active member of his community. During his retirement, Evan enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
