HARTMAN, George Harry age 93, of St. Petersburg, passed away from this life on July 10, 2013. Originally from Floral Park, Long Island, NY, he worked for Manufacturers Trust Co. and attended New York University at night. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, having served in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. In 1953, he and his family moved to St. Petersburg, and went to work for Union Trust Company bank, where he retired as a vice president in 1982. He was a graduate of the school of Banking of the South at LSU. He and his wife, Mary Dean, were charter members of the Northwest Church of Christ, in St. Petersburg, where George served as an elder, Bible class teacher and for 24 years the church treasurer. He is survived by two sons, Lee (Bonnie) and Glenn (Judi); four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Czarniak of Spring Hill; and a cousin, Katherine Howe of Rutherford, NJ. A memorial service will be held at Northwest Church of Christ, 6355 38th Ave North, St. Petersburg, on Saturday, July 20th, at 1 pm.
