CREW, Isiah this kind and gentle man, went home to be with God, Monday morning, Jan. 27, 2014 here in St Petersburg. He was born to Harold and Loreece (Adkins) Crewe, April 21, 1939 in Charles City, VA. He attended public school there and after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served his country for 22 years around the U.S., Europe, and Asia including Vietnam. During that time he married Lois Doremus Crew who preceded him in death. He retired from military life as a Master Sargent from McDill AFB and settled in St. Petersburg. Ike as he was fondly known, went to work for the Veteran's Administration and retired from there after 19 years of service. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold, Carl and Jeffery; 2 sisters Mabel Brown and Thelma Jones. He leaves to continue his celebration of life, his loving companion of 12 years, Lois Vines; niece, Althea Warren; 2 brothers, Thomas (Vickie) and Leroy; 2 sisters, Lois Poindexter and Joan Frances Howard; 10 nieces; great and grand-nieces; 7 nephews; great and grand-nephews; adopted family named "Ike's Crew" son, Etiene Vines; adopted daughter, Deneen Vines-Stanley; grandchildren, Chandler Stanley and Kai Vines and a wealth of family and friends. Viewing Feb. 3, 2014, from 6-8 pm, Lawson Funeral Home, St. Petersburg. Graveside services and interment Feb. 4, Bushnell National Cemetery at 11 am.
