ROBERSON, James Calvin "Cal" 62, of Largo, died on Aug. 8, 2013, at Tampa General Hospital. Born in Miami, he moved to Largo as a child. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jill Ann Roberson; his lifelong best friend, Jim Sorrell; many aunts and uncles; neices and nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean & Roy Roberson also of Largo. Cal worked in the EMS field for over 40 years, 23 of which were at Tampa General Hospital with their Aeromedical Unit Aeromed as a communications specialist. Cal also worked for several ambulance companies such as C&R, FLA Ambulance & Sunstar as a driver trainer among others. He was also a Volunteer Firefighter for Belleair Bluffs Fire Dept for many years. He worked alongside his parents Jean & Roy for many years at their transmission repair business, Belleair Garage in Clearwater. He loved muscle cars (Plymouths and Dodges) and stock car racing of which he also drove in many races in his younger years and loved NASCAR. He loved to ride his Gold Wing and take road trips or just a short day ride that would result in him going to Georgia and back. Cal had a wonderful sense of humor. He was passionate about his country and loved wildlife of all kinds. He adopted many dogs, rabbits and birds. He was an avid photographer and loved all types of music.
