Obituary

BORDEN, John Carroll "Jack" 90, peacefully slipped into our heavenly father's arms on the first day of Spring, March 20, 2014. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary; parents, Capt. and Mrs. E. W. Borden (Marian); brother, E W. Borden Jr. (Teeny); sister, Marian Walker (Bill) & brother-in-law, Bob Webb. Survived by his children, Larry (Tami), Marianne McConnell (Bob), John (Deborah), & Chris (Lisa); grandsons, Bobby (Sarah), Rick (Kerri), Christopher, Chase (Brittany), Lucas, Jared, Jack; great-grandson, Murphy. Also survived by sister, Marge Webb; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, outlaws, and friends. Jack was born in Georgetown, Grand Cayman and was a lifelong resident of Tampa. He attended Jefferson High School, graduating in the first class of 1942 where he played football and baseball. After joining the Navy during WWII, he attended The University of Florida and later went on to work for Kraft Foods for forty years. He was proud of his roots in Grand Cayman BWI, where many beloved cousins still reside. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and nurse's aides who so lovingly cared for our father. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, 2902 W. Fletcher Ave., Tampa, FL 33618, March 30, 4 pm. Light refreshments will follow in Heritage Hall. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Florida United Methodist Children's Home, LifePath Hospice, or favorite charity.
