Obituary

KIRBY, John E. 91, of Sun City Center passed away Jan. 7, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Elizabeth Kirby; son, Thomas Kirby; six grandchildren, Thomas J., William, David, and Margaret Tarrant, Mary Susan Bendl, and Kathleen O'Leary; his sister, Nancy Phillips; his granddaughter, Jacqueline and grandson, Joshua; nephews, Jeffery and Timothy Donovan; three grandnieces, Jennifer, Rebecca and Pamela. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise and son, Michael. He is a Navy veteran and served in WWII on the Aircraft Carrier the USS Bonhomme Richard and in the Korean War on the USS Helena. John received his Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Marquette University and his Masters in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He retired to Sun City Center in 1985 from Eastman Kodak where he was very active in volunteering at South Bay Hospital and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. A memorial Service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the U.S.O. or a . Zipperer's Funeral Home
