TRINKLE, John E. 84, of Brandon passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2014, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born on Jan. 26, 1930 in Sandborn, IN, to the late Lawrence and Opal Howell Trinkle. John was a Sargent in the United States Army and a veteran of the Korea War. John enjoyed carpentry, NASCAR, baseball and football. He was a member of the American Legion Post 362, a volunteer fireman, member of the Forgotten Men's Club, a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars. participating in the parade unit, and member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Bunny Trinkle; sons, Kevin Trinkle (Heather), Steven Trinkle (Lisa) and Gary Trinkle; daughter, Mary Sheffield; sisters, Rosalie Trice and June Trice; grandchildren, Brandon, Zachary, Cameron, Amanda, Alicia, Danielle and Jonathan; and great-grandson, Deo. He now joins his son, Gary Trinkle; daughter, Barbara Mayes; brother, Bill Trinkle; and sister, Ruth Folsom. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23 from 4-6 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 24, at 4 pm, both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to Lifepath Hospice.
