Keri Blickenstaff Kinsel


BLICKENSTAFF KINSEL, Keri 29, of Georgia, passed away April 26, 2014. Keri grew up in the Tampa Bay Area and was a 2003 graduate of Bloomingdale High School. She moved to Athens, GA in 2008 for graduate school, where she met and married her husband, Carl. She received a Bachelor's degree in music from Florida Southern College in 2008, a Master's degree in musicology from the University of Georgia in 2010, and was a Ph.D candidate in musicology at the University of Georgia. Keri was an accomplished violinist, winning awards at both the county and state levels. She was a scholar specializing in Russian and Soviet music. She was pre-deceased by her paternal grandmother, Shirley Blickenstaff. She is survived by her husband, Carl Kinsel; stepdaughters, Emma and Olivia Kinsel; parents, Dan and Valerie Blickenstaff; sister, Holly Blickenstaff; maternal grandparents, George and Pat Bowman; paternal grandfather, Bob Blickenstaff; extended family and friends. A memorial service will take place Thursday, May 8 in the Day Chapel at The State Botanical Gardens of Georgia in Athens.
