BACON, Linda passed away March 23, 2014 surrounded by her blended family. Born April 28, 1941 in Plainfield, NJ, she was predeceased by her parents, Aaron and Judy Flanzbaum and her faithful four-legged friend, Crispy Bacon. Linda had resided in Clearwater for over 40 years. Linda was a schoolteacher for many years, including a stint in Louisiana during the desegregation movement. Her last teaching position before retirement was a Sunset Hills Elementary School in Tarpon Springs. After retirement Linda was a dedicated volunteer at the Children's Preschool Reading Program for 19 years at the Clearwater Countryside Public Library. Linda enjoyed her summers in Wolfeboro, NH. She was an active tennis player and a avid reader. Linda is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Tony of 28 years. She is also survived by her brother, Gerry Flanzbaum (Marilyn); her children, Dr. Stephanya Shear (Anthony) of Danville, VA, Cindy Shear of Palm Harbor, FL, Tracy Bukowski (Gabriel) of Wilmington, DE, Stephen Bacon of Dunedin, FL, and 5 grandchildren whom she loved dearly. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 27 at 11 am at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 N. McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, 33759 in Linda's memory.
