TROTTER, Marcia Elaine Mitchell 83, of Largo, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at 9:10 am at Morton Plant Hospital after a 4 year battle with Parkinson's Disease and Dementia. Her daughters and sister were by her side. She was born in Canton, OH, on Feb. 18, 1930 and moved to Largo in 1944. She attended Largo High School and graduated in 1948. She attended the University of Florida from 1948 - 1950. She married Lee R. Trotter in 1950 and after raising 3 children, decided to return to college. She received her B. S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tampa and taught in the Pinellas County School District. She taught 4th grade at Skycrest Elementary and Anona Elementary. She was widowed in 1976 and 2 years later married Warren K. Trotter. She moved to Athens, GA, and taught 3 years there in the 5th grade. She and Warren moved back to Largo in 1982 where she taught 7 more years in the Compensatory Education Program at Ponce de Leon Elementary, and retired from teaching in 1989. She was an accomplished pianist and a member of the senior bowling league at Largo Lanes. She was a frequent visitor at the Anona United Methodist Church. She loved living in Florida, its history and Florida's beautiful scenery. She was proceeded in death by a son, Thomas Lee Trotter and husband Warren K. Trotter. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen E. Magyer of High Springs, Cathy L. Stone of Largo; two sisters, Patricia L. Blackett of Masaryktown, and Lynn A. Green of Clearwater; six grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 step children, 6 step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marcia E. Trotter was cremated at Serenity Gardens on Indian Rocks Road, with her daughters and granddaughter at her side. Marsha's services will be held at her long-time home in Largo on Dec. 7th, from 12-3 pm.
