BODINE, Mary Morgan 87, passed away peacefully in hospice on Monday, June 10, 2013. She was born Mary Agnes Burgess in Beaver, WV on Sept. 28, 1925. In West Virginia, she was a highly regarded public school teacher for 32 years and positively impacted the lives of many young people over that time. In 1987, after the death of her first husband, Al Morgan, she moved on her own to Treasure Island. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Fred and John Burgess. Survivors include her wonderful husband of 23 years, William H. "Bill" Bodine; daughter, Carolyn Morgan; son, Mike Morgan (wife, Dona); grandchildren, Kelley Grimm, Scott Grimm, Sara Morgan, and Matthew Morgan; stepdaughter, Aimee Case (husband, Ed Case); five stepgrand-children and several nieces and nephews. All who knew Mary soon learned she was a loyal West Virginia Mountaineer. She was also a league tennis player at the T.I. Tennis & Yacht Club until age 82. Mary volunteered at St. Anthony's Hospital in the radiology department for 20 years and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She was very active, fun, adventurous, friendly, and sociable. Mary never met a stranger, and she was compassionate and generous. She loved to be around friends and family and to travel with Bill to reunions and WVU football games all over the country. A memorial mass will be held a St. John's Catholic Church, St. Pete Beach on Monday, June 17 at 11:30 am. Mary's friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of her life at 825 116th Ave., Treasure Island after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sun Coast Hospice or St. John's Catholic School.
