Obituary

CORBITT, Maxine (Moore) 92, of Tampa, passed away Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home in Land O'Lakes. Maxine was a native of Agnos, AR and resided in Tampa, for over 60 years. She met and married her husband Herbert Corbitt in Brisbane, Australia while both served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After their military service the couple moved to Tampa where she raised 5 children and worked for the public school system. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Dewayne and Dale Corbitt; grandson, Dewayne Corbitt. She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Teresa) Corbitt of North Edwards, CA, Donald (Alethea) Corbitt of Jacksonville; and daughter, Frances (DeWayne) Tampa; her sister, Pearl (Moore) Roberts of Jonesboro, AR; 3 grand-children, Aaron Burke, Tampa; Kelly (Monte) McFarland, Tallahassee; and Donna (Graham) Jones, Jacksonville; 3 great-grandchildren, Meaghan McFarland, Tyler McMillan and Maxwell Jones. Visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, May 3rd and funeral services will be held Friday, May 4th at 10 am with military services following at 12:30 pm at the Florida National Cemetery.
