Naomi N. BURCH

Obituary

BURCH, Naomi N. Jan. 7, 1919- June 19, 2013, A life long resident and native of Tampa. She was a Plant High School graduate, and was active in numerous civic and service organizations including the Hillsborough County Special Olympics, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, and the Foster Grandparent program. She took great pride in her work with the ZONTA Club of Tampa, a chapter of ZONTA International, & had held the office of District Governor. Ms. Burch joined the ZONTA Club in 1950, and was a member of the service organization until her death. She also mentored a number of younger women in their business endeavors. She worked at numerous businesses in Tampa and retired as a Senior Manager from Ryder Truck Lines in 1984. She resided at Emeritus in North Tampa at the time of her death. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Cliffe and Jessie Burch of Tampa; one sister, Miriam Cole of Odessa; and brother, Thomas L. Burch also of Tampa. She is survived by a brother, William J Burch of Casa Grande, AZ; four nephews, Thomas Burch, Cliffe Burch, Robert Burch, Michael Burch; and eight great- nieces & nephews; and eight great-great-nieces & nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, at 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, on Monday, June 24th, at 2 pm. Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood (813)968-2231
