MAYFIELD, Norma Jean age 80, of Sun City Center, joi-ned the Lord she loves on May 3, 2014. She was born Aug. 11, 1933, raised in Indiana, and is a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School. She attended Ball State University before becoming the devoted, loving wife of 60 years to Bill Mayfield, who survives her. Norma was a strong, caring mother to her four daughters, Kathie (Russell) Nalepa, Edie (Kevin) Housel, Glenda Bizz-otto and Nola Mayfield; a son, Sidney Mayfield; and proud grandmother of seven. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nyla Roeder, Nancy Cook and Susie Stout; and is survived by brother, Robert (Margie) Brown. Norma's passions were genealogy and family, Christian love and service, travel, singing, cooking, bridge, and developing world-wide friendships. She hosted foreign exchange students from Germany, Japan, and Peru during the 30 years she lived in Akron, OH. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a Bible School teacher, a Girl Scout leader, a 4-H advisor, and a member/worker at Friendship Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be held at a later date.
