JONES, Olive Florene "Flo" of Tampa, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at 11 am, at Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, 1006 West Cypress Street. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born Aug. 22, 1927 to the late Reverend James and Ethel Jones in Tampa. She was the sister of two brothers who preceded her in death, James (Sonny) Jones Jr. and Albert (Chink) Herbert Jones. She then attended Florida A and M College where she was inducted in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and graduated with a BA degree in Business Education and Spanish. She later attended the University National DeMexico and New York University. She transferred to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and graduated with a MA in Guidance and Counseling. Florene was a crusader for change. She leaves to celebrate her life and honor her memories: niece, Tangula Jones Grove (Michael); nephews, James Kent Jones and Ivan R. Jones (Keziah); cousins, Doris Ross Reddick, Dr. Leroy Kearney, Gaylord (Herbert) Curry, Kelly B. Williams Sr. (Sandra), Morris Williams (Christine), Dr. Doris Campbell; and a host of other beloved family and friends. The remains will repose from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 25th, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
