KREPFLE, Raymond J. 64, of Tierra Verde, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013. He was born in Potosi, WI on April 27, 1949 to Ralph and Alma Krepfle. He attended high school in Potosi and earned his Bachelor in 1971, and Masters of Business Administration in 1979, from the University of Wisconsin. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a charter member of the Finance Committee of the Association of Financial Guarantee Insurers (AFGI). He was a certified public accountant with Peat, Marwick, and Mitchell, Milwaukee office and then joined MGIC Investment Corporation in 1974, spending seven years with MGIC on a fast track career culminating as the Corporate Treasurer. Ray moved to New York in 1981, to become the northeast sales manager for AMBAC, a wholly owned subsidiary of MGIC. Ray was instrumental in helping AMBAC fuel its growth from $17 million in annual premiums to over $250 million. Ray later went on to become AMBAC's chief financial officer and help guide the sale of AMBAC to Citibank in 1984. In January 1988, Raymond was part of the founding Executive Management team of Capital Re Corporation, now known as Assured Guaranty, a New York based specialty (re)insurance group. Assuming the position of CFO of Capital Re prior to his retirement, at age 42, in 1991. After retiring, Raymond and his wife Lorraine, decided to move to Florida and build their dream house in Tierra Verde, in 1992. Always one to stay active and to help his local community, Raymond served on several boards including The Ponte Vedra Community Board, The Villages Board of Directors and the Tierra Verde Community Association, where he was instrumental in stopping the Tierra Verde annexation and the formation of the Tierra Verde Business Association. Additionally, Ray was a sports enthusiast and fitness advocate; he was an avid left-handed golfer and alumni fan for his Wisconsin Badgers, as well as the University of Florida, Gators and Florida State Seminoles. He and his wife attended the YMCA in St. Petersburg several times a week. He will always be remembered for his loving demeanor, humility, kindness and open willingness to lend a helping hand to friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lorraine Krepfle; children, Keith (Lori) and Brian (Nicole); and grandchildren, Jordyn, Paige and Cayden. He is also survived by his parents, Ralph and Alma Krepfle; seven brothers and sisters, Keith (Michele), Kay (Roger), Ann (Terry), Mike, Bob (Stacey), Pam (Tim) and Pat (Brad). He will be dearly missed by his immediate family, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. We ask that you join us in a celebration of his life at services held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 1 pm at the Anderson McQueen Funeral Home , 2201 Dr. MLK St. North St. Petersburg.
