MERIWETHER, Richard B. MD 89, died peace-fully April 18, 2014 at his home. Richard was born in San-ford, FL, com-pleted his medical training at the University of Virginia and came to Clearwater in 1955. He was a pediatrician affiliated with Morton Plant Hospital for 33 years. During that time he cared for many babies and children. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of St. Michael Angli-can Church. He was a lifelong tennis player enjoying games with family and many friends. He is predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Zena Cate, his brothers, Walter and Charles, his sisters, Virginia Lacour and Mary Louise Ensign. Dick is survived by Norma Chappell Meriwether his wife of 25 years; his son, Richard (Ka-thy); daughters, Leigh Stewart (Keith), and Leslie Davis (Zach); stepdaughters, Lydia Tobitsch (Klaus) and Laura Twilley (John); grandchildren, Katie, Michael, and Anna Meriwether; Zena and Bennett Davis; Erich and Stefan Tobitsch; Megan, Lauren, and Emma Twilley. He is also sur-vived by many nieces and nephews. Services will be held May 5, at 11 am at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Chapel, 1750 Curlew Rd, Palm Harbor. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Morton Plant Hos-pital Foundation or St. Michael Anglican Church. There is no formal visitation. www.curlewhills.com
