Robert ZETTEL Obituary

ZETTEL, Robert B. age 83, of St. Pete Beach, passed away on Oct. 26, 2013. Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, JoAnn Zettel; his four children, Sherry (Mike), Mike (Wendy), Sandy (Jeff), and John (Christi); and his grandchildren; Erika, Steve, Matt, Beth, Caitlin, and Courtney. He is also survived by his brothers, Don and Larry and his sister, Betty and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Detroit, MI to Louise and Clement Zettel. He graduated high school from Catholic Central High and college from the University of Detroit. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army, and served during the Korean Conflict. After returning to Detroit, Bob began his career as a CPA with Haskins & Sells. In 1973 he accepted a transfer and the family moved to Puerto Rico. Bob retired from the San Juan office of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in 1985. After retiring, JoAnn and Bob lived in California for 12 years before moving to St Pete Beach in 1997. His interests included playing softball and golf and going to FSU football games. Bob also stayed busy spending many years on the board of the Silver Sands Condo Association and doing volunteer tax work for AARP. Even with his hobbies and work, one thing he really loved was being Grandpa Bob to his six grandchildren. There will be a memorial mass for Bob at 10 am on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at St John Vianney Catholic Church, St Pete Beach, FL.
