ELLIS, Robert C. 65, died peacefully in Tampa, on Nov. 11, 2013 while surrounded by his family. Born in Buffalo, on Aug. 8, 1948, he grew up in Springville, NY. Bob graduated from Alfred University (class of 1970) with degrees in Finance and Business Administration. After graduation he was commissioned in the US Army and became a helicopter pilot. Upon leaving the army, Bob began his career in the banking business. Wanting to advance his career, he began work on an MBA which he received from Can-isius College. In 1981 he packed up his family, left New York and headed to Florida to resume his banking career. Later, he left banking and started a consulting business which he operated until shortly before his passing. Bob was very community minded. He devoted much of his time to the Brandon Rotary Club. He was also an avid outdoorsman and conservationist in the true sense of the word. Bob's true passion was hunting and he was actively involved in Ducks Unlimited and the Wild Turkey Federation. He also enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fisherman. Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years Sylvia; his son Rob, wife Tricia; grandchildren Jack and Anna; son Rich and his fiancée Emily Padgett. He is also survived by his brother Rich Ellis and his wife Carol of Winter Park; and aunt, Sally Dwyer of Victor, NY. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
